Trident University

Trident University International (TUI) is a virtual, territorially certify revenue driven college where all courses are conveyed on the web. It offers Bachelors, Masters and Doctoral degree programs in Business, Health Sciences, Education, and Information Systems. Trident University is a previous extension grounds of Touro College, later acquired by Summit Partners.

Trident University is a previous extension grounds of Touro College, which was established in 1970 in New York City. In October 2007, Trident turned into a stand-alone organization and was obtained by Summit Partners, a private-value firm in Palo Alto, California, and Boston, Massachusetts.

In the wake of obtaining the college, Summit Partners revamped TUI as a revenue driven establishment and changed the name to Trident University International.


Trident University is locally authorize by the Accrediting Commission for Senior Colleges and Universities of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. Their accreditation was undermined in 2011 by assertions that it had "neglected to guarantee that understudies moving into its undergrad system had satisfied their general training prerequisites and, all the more critically, neglected to inform the accreditor concerning the issue."

In February 2012, WASC lifted the "show reason" request beforehand forced on Trident and set the school on post trial supervision because of Trident's advancement in determining the issues distinguished. After one year, WASC uprooted Trident's probation and reaffirmed its accreditation.
